I was thrilled to be a part of Bloggers on Bourbon, which took place in my hometown of New Orleans a few weeks ago. Actually, it took place on my birthday weekend, which made the weekend even more fun! Besides being surrounded by some of my great blogger friends, which included Bridgette from The Experimental Mommy, Cissy from Cool Baby Kid, and Kim from What’s That Smell, I also got the chance to make new bloggy friends. Christine from From Dates to Diapers is a hoot and I don’t know how she kept up, but she didn’t miss a beat. But, we did do more than hang out and chat, we went out and had a blast! Here is my recap of the weekend.
Friday Night: Dinner was at Besh’s Steakhouse in Harrah’s Casino. Thanks to Harrah’s we had a YUMMY dinner and some fun playing the slots! We then did a ghost tour through the French Quarter, thanks to Lingerie.com. Then it was back to the hotel for dessert and SWAG!! Some of our fun swag included: , Kidz Gear Wireless Headphones, Kidz Bop CD, Country Time Lemonade, and much, much more!
Saturday: It was off to Houmas House, which is an authentic southern plantation, for a tour and lunch. Thanks to Shannon Lane from Traveling Mamas for helping set this up and Community Coffee and Houmas House for the hospitality. Global Resort Homes was nice enough to treat us to lunch at the plantation. This was a great tour and I learned that I am so glad that I did not live in the 1800’s.LOL
Once we returned to the city, Bridgette and I took some other bloggers for a walk through the French Market to shop for souvenirs and a snack. Then it was time to freshen up for dinner.
Thanks to Open Sky Project and Collective Bias, we were treated to dinner at Dickie Brennan’s Steak House. This was a delicious dinner and I was surrounded by great company, which included: Bridgette, Cissy, Blondie (Good Golly Miss Blondie), Marybeth (Baby Good Buys), and Maggie (Baton Rouge Mommy). All I can say is “#who runs”! You guys were a blast!
Then it was out for some dancing fun on Bourbon Street! You girls sure know how to have fun!
I then took all of Sunday to recoup from staying out much later than usual. Thanks to Tricia from Mom Dot and Leah from Bookieboo for planning such a great event!
