If you are like me and still carrying around an outdated phone, because you can’t decide what you want, then let me give you some help and recommend a Windows 7 phone! I know there is a ton of hype around the iPhone and the Droid, but I have seen and played with both and to me they did not compare.
What is so different about the Windows Phone 7? I personally think it is the ease of use, which puts everything at my fingertips. All my friends are listed alphabetically and automatically updated from Facebook. I can click on a name and all their info, including phone number, email, etc., is listed. There is no going back and forth to search for what I need. Also, I LOVE the zune music player, which not only plays music, but also flashes cool pics and gives info about the artist. If you are a gamer, then you will be thrilled to see that Windows Phone 7 is integrated with XBox Live.
I think that hits on my favorite features, but lets talk apps. Nothing is more important for me than a phone that can entertain my kids, but if it is educational at the same time, then I have reached nirvana. This is why I was super impressed with the apps available. Here are some of the ones that I currently have on my phone:
· Flash Cards – Use addition, subtraction, multiplication and division or all of the above in one deck.
· Giggle Pad – Fun and educational game for children ages 9 months and older. It includes two modes. The first mode, called “Play Phone”, is a pretend phone that speaks. Numbers, voices and songs play when you or your child press the pretend keys and call button. The second mode, called “Tap Shapes”, shows random shapes, letters, and numbers when you touch the screen or press a key on your phone’s keyboard. All letters, number, colors and shapes are spoken out loud.
· Kindle – Users have access to more than 750,000 books with this app.
Wyatt is my flash card junkie and thinks that it is even more fun to do them on my phone. Blake is a huge fan of giggle pad and will play for 30 minutes at a time and just giggles away. I am totally addicted to Table Tile, which is like Scrabble, even though I am convinced that the computer cheats.LOL
If you have been on the fence about a new phone, I think you should really consider the Windows Phone 7. I am definitely happy that I did and there is no looking back for me!
