Wyatt goes through books really fast, so I am always on the lookout for new books for him, especially if its topic is something other than snakes. I was happy to hear that LaRue was back to his writing ways and has a new book out: LaRue Across America: Postcards From the Vacation. Wyatt has read about this lovable puppy before and really enjoys his adventures.
Here is the synopsis of this story: Ike’s plan for a peaceful cruise with Mrs. LaRue are thwarted when their neighbor, Mrs. Hibbins, falls suddenly ill. Mrs. LaRue suggests that she and Ike care for her cats while Mrs. Hibbins is in the hospital, inviting them along on the cruise. But cats aren’t allowed, and Mrs. LaRue decides to take them all on a week’s vacation of road-tripping. Ike is beside himself and quickly takes up his pen to tell us why!
Wyatt had a great time laughing about Ike’s frustrations with the cats and his thoughts about their odd behavior. He also had fun looking on the map to see where in the country Ike was sending each different postcard from. I loved the geography aspect of the story and how they traveled across the country, much to poor Ike’s dismay.
To check out a few of Ike’s adventures, watch the book trailer below:
