Now the Wyatt is back in school and has homework, Blake keeps asking to do his “homework”, so hubby and I have decided that we will take advantage of this and use it as learning time. We let him color and read to him, but we want to be able to incorporate his numbers and letters while still keeping it fun. Game cards came into the picture when I got introduced to a company called ChildUp.
Here is some information about ChildUp from their site: Since 2005, the ChildUp Team of early childhood development experts and dedicated parents is providing information and developing solutions and tools for parents who intend to raise successful, balanced, and happy children. The ChildUp program is based on decades of practical positive parenting experience in real life situations and families, backed up by leading worldwide scientific research in early education from the past 10 years. ChildUp offers a series of efficient solutions and tools in matter of parenting, early childhood development, and early learning: the ChildUp Online Parenting Courses, the ChildUp Early Learning Game Cards, the ChildUp Early Learning Applications, and the ChildUp Early Learning Method.
ChildUp was nice enough to send me some of their Early Learning Game Cards and an Early Learning App to review. The cards we received were for Math and Logic for numbers 1-10 and then a set for 1-20. The 1-10 set was the perfect place for us to start. The cards are thick and colorful and have cute designs, which keep his attention. I like how the pictures on the back help him count and also shows how you can add. There are multiple sets of cards in each pack to use in progression, which is great because he is not always seeing the same thing. Blake is always eager to do his cards and I have seen him make some improvement in the last few weeks.
The iPad app is also great, because the kids love any excuse to play on the iPad, even if it is educational. Blake loves playing his math game and looks so cute when he is concentrating! He also has a great time making the animals “talk”!
ChildUp Early Learning Game Cards retail for $9.99 and includes 48 Child’s Cards to learn to count from 1 to 10 while discovering four different series of 10 popular animals and 16 Parent’s Cards presenting the 1st part of the ChildUp Early Learning Method, with practical early learning and parenting advice. The Early Learning App retails for $1.99 and is available for the iPhone and iPad. Both products can be purchased online from ChildUp.
