My older son is definitely following in his father’s footsteps when in comes to gaming. He loves video games, from his DS to his Wii and most recently online. But, as a parent, I am always weary of letting him loose online.
I find my safest bet, is to tell his that he has to stay on whatever site that he starts on. He new favorite site for gaming is Cartoon Network, where they have plenty of free online games to keep him entertained.
Wyatt loves that he can find all his new favorite cartoons characters like Ben 10, Clone Wars, and Adventure Time! And, they also have games for the classic cartoons that we grew up on like Scooby Doo and Tom and Jerry. They also have the games easily grouped on the home page by type, like mobile, adventure, action and girl. Yes, they even have a section for girls, with some fun PowerPuff Girls Games.
As a parent, I like that the games download fairly quickly and you don’t need an account to play. I like that for two reasons: 1) because my son isn’t sharing information about himself and 2) that is one less username and password that my seven year old is trying to remember. They even offer some games that are easy enough for the four year old to play, which makes him feel less left out.
Cartoon Network has over 320 online games, which are all listed by character on their site, your child is sure to find the perfect game! So head on over, find something fun, and get your game on!
