I think it is so funny that Wyatt thinks the Ninja Turtles are cool, since I thought they were cool like 20 years ago! But, alas those crime fighting turtles are back and in an all new CGI-animated hit series. Coming soon to DVD for the first time, Nickelodeon will be releasing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Rise of the Turtles. This DVD will be available for purchase on February 26, 2013!
Here is a list of the episodes, and their synopsis, which are included on this DVD:
Rise of the Turtles (Double-Length Episode)- Four sewer-dwelling turtles go above ground for the first time and rescue a teenage girl, April O’Neil, and her father from a near abduction. Before long, they’re caught up in a complicated conspiracy.
Turtle Temper- When a video surfaces showing the Turtles topside, Master Splinter worries that their secrecy will be compromised. Meanwhile, Raphael struggles to keep his anger problems in check.
New Friend, Old Enemy- Michelangelo accidentally befriends Chris Bradford via social media, a henchman who’s secretly working for Shredder!
I Think His Name Is Baxter Stockman– When the Turtles sneak out against Splinter’s wishes to spend time with April, they battle Baxter Stockman, a deranged inventor in mechanical battle armor.
Metalhead- Donatello invents a remote-controlled robot to stand in for him during a battle with Kraang.
This new series includes the voice talents of Jason Biggs (American Pie) as “Leonardo,” Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings) as “Raphael,” Rob Paulsen (Planet Sheen) as “Donatello” and Greg Cipes (Teen Titans) as “Michelangelo.” Additional cast members rounding out this iconic hit franchise include Mae Whitman (Parenthood) as “April O’Neil,” Hoon Lee (Royal Pains) as “Master Splinter” and Kevin Michael Richardson (Penguins of Madagascar) as “Shredder.”
Nickelodeon was nice enough to send my boys over a copy of this DVD to check out. Wyatt was more into it than Blake, which I would expect, but they both watched intently. They love pizza and had fun trying ninja moves on each other. Wyatt likes the story line and asked when it comes on TV so he can stay up to date. Hubby liked the animation, so I would say that it was an overall hit in this house.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Rise of the Turtles has a running time of 145 Minutes and includes the following Special Features: 6 “making of” Animatics, a Theme Song: Karaoke Music Video, and an exclusive Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles poster for a limited time only. This DVD retails for $14.99 and is available for pre-order now from amazon.com.
