Review and Giveaway: Alphabotz CLOSED

Wyatt has always been a fan of flash cards and I like that he is learning while playing.  This is why I was so intrigued when I heard about Alphabotz, which are designed to help kids learn phonics  through using visual clues and sound association.  These oversized cards use robots as their base, which Wyatt thought was “so cool”.

Alphabotz , which are colorful robot characters on oversized flash cards, are taking learning to read to a new level by helping emerging readers to comprehend nearly four dozen sounds created from the 26-letter English alphabet.  They were designed by a mother of two, whom also has 30 years of teaching experience, and felt that a technically sound, multi-strategy approach to reading that was also fun and engaging for children was missing from the marketplace.  Alphabotz was named one of Dr. Toy’s 100 Best Children’s Products of 2009, and it was just announced that they also won a Tillywig Toy & Media Award Brain Child Award.

Alphabotz was nice enough to send us a set of their cards to for my family to review.  First off, I was impressed with their quality!  The cards are thick and will withstand lots of use and are bright and colorful.  They are also large and easy to read.  I love that they come with their own carrying case, which is awesome.  Wyatt was very interested in the cards and took his time reading each one.  I think the robots definitely helped keep his interest and I like how each card teaches all the different sounds for each letter.  Here is Wyatt showing off his Alphabotz.

Alphabotz are designed for kids ages 3 and up, and they retail for only $19.95, which is a great value since they include 46 character cards, 2 game and activity cards, 2 bonus cards, and 1 sturdy matchbox-style box with sliding drawer.  You can purchase them at Amazon.com, and if you purchase before December 18th, use the code KSBLOGS1 to save 20% off your purchase.

These cards make a great toy for restraunts, doctor’s offices, and road trips.  Alphabotz are also dry erase marker friendly, so your child can practice tracing their letters.  So, be sure to keep these cards in mind as you do your holiday shopping.
