So, I know I promised this post awhile back, but things have been beyond crazy! Here is my recap of dining from the New Orleans Girls Getaway weekend I attended.
Let’s face it, it is really hard to find a bad meal in New Orleans, but some places take good to a whole new level and I was lucky enough to experience a few of those places.
First off, we have Brennan’s Tableau. I will say that I have had the pleasure of dining at multiple Brennan Restaurants and have always loved my meal. Tableau did not disappoint! From marinated crab claws, to lump crab meat, and delicious shrimp and grits, this meal had all my favorites, plus fresh baked bread. But, my favorite part was dessert! They have this fabulous Tart a la Bouille, which reminded me of my grandmother. If you are looking for an authentic Cajun meal, then Tableau is the place to go! Tableau is also attached to Le Petit Theatre, which is one of the nation’s oldest community-based theatre organizations. So, this is also a great choice for a full night out of dinner and the theater!
Next up, we have Kingfish. My favorite thing about this place is the awesome bar and drink menu. Their chocolate martini is like a taste of Heaven! I had the steak, which was good, but if you go, be sure to get their Guava Butter Fries, which were amazing! Their menu had plenty of options and I liked everything I tried. This would be a fun place to go with friends for a night out on the town!
By this point you are thinking, she has to be done eating, but really we are only halfway there!
Let’s talk lunch! Think outdoor eatery with yummy Italian classics, and you have Little Vic’s. This is where I would like to bring the whole family, maybe after a day at the Aquarium. The food was fresh, delicious and the atmosphere fun. I had never had Arancini, Sfoglia, or Pitoni before, but I want to have it again. My only regret here was that I was too full to try their gelato, which is another great reason to head back there!
And, lastly we have the famous Court of Two Sisters! I was lucky enough to have a chance to experience their Jazz Brunch, which is a must do if you are in New Orleans! The food, the music, and the atmosphere are all uniquely NOLA! And, this is no ordinary brunch, with offerings from seafood omletes, turtle soup, shrimp etouffee, jambalaya, and more you are sure to have a fun and filling experience.
If you are headed down to New Orleans, I hope this gives you a few ideas of where to dine. Be adventurous in our city and let your palette delight in all our city has to offer.
