Go On a Literary Adventure with Mouseheart #Giveaway #Mouseheart

Simon & Schuster provided product to facilitate this review.  All opinions stated are my own.

Wyatt loves to read, as I am sure you have learned by now, and he is going through books faster than we can find them.  He is like me, in that he always seems to have a book with him, just in case he has time to read.  Recently, he got asked to check out a new book, called Mouseheart,  which is a story about a mouse finding out that size is not everything.

Mouseheart

Written by Lisa Fiedler and illustrated by Vivienne To, this story follows ordinary pet-shop mouse Hopper.  Once he escapes the pet-shop, he soon finds himself below the bustling streets of Brooklyn, deep within the untamed tangles of transit tunnels, and in Atlantia, a glorious utopian rat civilization.  But all is not as it seems. Hopper misses Pinkie and Pup, the siblings he lost in the escape attempt. Atlantia is constantly threatened by roving rebels who wish to bring the city to its knees. And there are cats everywhere, cats who would normally eat a rodent in a second, but leave the rats unharmed . . . and no one can seem to answer why.  Soon Hopper is caught in the crosshairs of an epic battle, one that spans generations and species. As the clashes rage, Hopper learns terrible, extraordinary secrets. Deadly secrets about Atlantia. Painful secrets about his friends.  And one powerful secret about himself.

Wyatt received an advanced copy of Mouseheart to review, and I must say that this story kept his attention from the first page till the end!  Right at 300 pages long, this book took him about a week to read.  He said he really enjoyed the book, and here is his story synopsis, which he omits the ending from, because he can’t give it away! “Mouseheart is about a mouse named Hopper who went from a normal pet shop mouse, to the promised one, to the chosen one, to an army general in one week! The war’s purpose was to rebel against the refugee camps, which are Cat Feeders.  Hopper’s best friend is named Zucker, who is the prince.”

Mouseheart is available in stores now for purchase and a hardcover copy retails for around $16, and is recommended for kids ages 8-12.  To stay social with Simon Kids, be sure to follow them on Twitter and Facebook.

Now for some fun!!!  Simon and Schuster is offering TWO lucky readers a chance to win a Mouseheart prize pack (pictured below), which includes a copy of the book and a custom Mouseheart t-shirt.  For your chance to win, just follow the Rafflecopter rules below.
