Disclosure: Among Friends sent me samples to review. All opinions stated are my own.
I am one of those people that love being in my kitchen, and I truly love to cook and bake. Cooking usually wins, because dinner seems more necessary than dessert. To save time, I find myself always looking for good bake mixes, so I feel that my kids are getting the best of both worlds. Being limited by Blake’s issues with the Red 40 dye, this can become quite the challenge.
Recently, I was introduced to a new brand of baking mixes called, Among Friends. Their goal is simple: they want to help people fill their kitchens with fresh-from-the-oven baked goods made from the best ingredients. Their mixes make baking easy for people on those days when treats from scratch are impractical or well nigh impossible.
Among Friends sent me over their, CJs Double Chocolate Cookie Mix, which was gluten free to try out. The recipe was super easy to follow and the cookies came out as described. They reminded me more of a chocolate granola taste wise, since they weren’t super sweet and a little on the dry side. Overall, they tasted okay and I would be willing to try some of their other mixes.
Among Friends is sold in 3,000 stores nationwide or you can shop online at AmongFriendsBakingMixes. com. Most mixes retail for around $5.99. To stay social, be sure to follow them on Facebook and Twitter.
