Buying clothes for boys can be a challenge, but luckily mine are in uniforms for most of the year. When we do shop, it is mostly for play clothes and a few dress items for church. They know that for church, their shirt must have a collar, and this is just my rule. Recently, I was sent a shirt to review from Sprouts of Change, and have found a new feel-good way to shop!
Here is some information about this generous company: At Sprouts of Change, we strive to enhance the lives of others while making our own children better people. The little things that enhance our products design such as tagless labels, desirable fabrics and unique cuts are just the beginning of the value proposition. The combination of receiving an item, sharing an item and learning about where the donation was made provides a powerful life lesson. Utility, Education and philanthropy are the three key components of Sprouts of Change. We will donate a tangible product to help improve the life of a child for every item we sell. This donation or “sprout” may be a school uniform, a teddy bear, a book, an article of clothing or some other item that will help make a child’s life better.
I was really excited to see how this model of business worked. Their idea of teaching children to be better people is something that I strive to do with my own children, so this was a win-win for me. A great product that my boys can use and the joy of helping others! We chose the yellow shirt for Blake, which arrived quickly and well packaged. It is a great vibrant yellow with a the company logo embroidered in green on the chest. The first things I noticed were how soft the shirt was, that it was tagless, and that they ran true to size. Now, for the first test, which is washing. This shirt held it’s color and shape with no pilling or shrinking. Test two was would Blake wear the shirt, and as you can see below, this shirt passed with flying colors.
Now the fun part begins, because after you make a purchase with Sprouts of Change, you receive a code to use on their site. To use your code, click on the My Sprout tab and enter this code. Blake and I sat down and did this together so he could see what happened next. We were told that our code allowed for a blanket to be placed in a bag for a child through the non-profit organization Night-Night San Francisco. He loved that someone would get a blanket to snuggle with, just like he does with his.
Right now Sprouts of Change only has three colors available in their shirt: navy, green and yellow. Each shirt retails for $34.00 and are available in sizes 3T through 7. You can purchase directly from the Sprouts of Change Site. For more information, be sure to follow them on Facebook and Twitter.

The clothes are adorable but most importantly, I love their model about giving back. I think it’s very important to show children this early on
