Cheerios Is Helping You Send Cheer This Holiday Season: Giveaway CLOSED

There is something about this time of year that reminds me of how much I have to be thankful for in my life.  That thankfulness is what fills me with the joy that I want to share with others.  Do you get that same feeling around the holidays, the one that wishes you could send cheer into the hearts of others?  Well, this holiday season, Cheerios is helping you send cheer to all the military families that are tending the homefront while their loved ones are away serving our country!

Here is some information about this promotion from Cheerios:  When our troops are called to serve, their families must rise to meet the challenges of service as well. To thank them, Cheerios and the USO have partnered in a postcard campaign that spreads Cheer directly to these honorable military families and supports USO programs. Here’s how it works:

  • During the months of October and November, 2011, specially-marked boxes of Cheerios cereal will feature Cheer postcards on the front of the box. Consumers can simply cut out the postcard from the Cheerios logo, write a message of thanks on the back, add a stamp and mail the pre-addressed card to the USO. The USO will deliver the Cheer card to military families across the country.
  • For each postcard received through November 2012, Cheerios will make a $1 donation to the USO to help fund programs that support military families.
  • To kick off the campaign, Cheerios has already donated $150,000 to the USO and will donate up to an additional $100,000 based upon the number of postcards received from specially marked boxes now through November 30th, 2012.

As a mom who has fed her kids Cheerios since they could eat them, this program makes me feel even stronger about this brand.  I love that they are recognizing not only those fighting, but the families that are at home.  I don’t know how these parents do it for years on end without their spouse their for help, but I admire them for all their work!  Our military would not be what it is, if it was not for the support they receive from their families.

Cheerios was nice enough to send my family a Cheer box of cereal to try.  I can’t wait for us to finish eating the cereal so that my boys and I can write a special note to a family thanking them for the dedication to our country!

Remember that this promotion runs through November 30th, so be sure to pick up your Cheer box of Cheerios today and send out your thank you!

Would you like to participate in sending Cheer?  Cheerios is offering one lucky reader a chance to win a prize pack (pictured below) that includes: 1 Cheerios cereal bowl, 1 Cheerios cereal spoon, 1 cereal dispenser and 1 “Cheer” box of Cheerios!  For your chance to win, just follow the rules below.
