Today we were lucky enough to be a part of Disney’s Volunteer Celebration, where they honor one family from each state that volunteers their time. It was amazing to be surrounded by so many giving people. Disney is also in the middle of promoting their “Give A Day, Get A Disney Day” Campaign, in which they hope to get 1 million people to donate a day to charity. They already have over 600 thousand, and it has only been 6 weeks since kick-off.
But, the best part of the day was being able to volunteer our time to help. At this ceremony, they unveiled the largest ever sculpture made from can goods, which was awesome, and all the food from the sculpture was being donated to local food banks. Wyatt, my 5 year old, and I were able to give back by helping to sort food and he planted some trees with Disney’s Friends for Change. I was so proud of him!! Not once did he say “I’m Bored!” or “I want to go ride Soarin'”.

As a family, who is blessed enough to have stable jobs, health insurance, and the ability to send him to private school, it is hard to explain to him that not everyone has what we have. Hopefully today he learned how good it feels to give.
Today gave a whole new meaning to “Magical Experience” for me! Thanks so much to Disney and the Social Media Moms Conference for the chance to be a part of this!
Hotel and Park Passes were provided at a discounted price.
