Dreft Baby Laundry Detergent- Review and Giveaway CLOSED

One of the first things I remember doing for Wyatt, before he was even born, was washing all of his baby clothes to get ready for his arrival.  I didn’t even know that babies needed their own detergent until someone gave me a bottle of Dreft at my baby shower.  I remembered how sweet his clothes smelled after I washed them and packed our hospital bag to get ready for his arrival.

For over 75 years, Dreft has been the baby laundry detergent brand most recommended by pediatricians.  Here is some more information from their site:  As gentle as water on baby’s skin and specially formulated for the unique needs of baby items, parents have relied on Dreft to  not only help prepare their baby’s essentials before baby’s arrival,  but also to keep those items clean and safe for their little one once they’re brought home from the hospital.

Dreft was nice enough to send me over a sample of their liquid detergent to review.  Since I have used this product with both my children, I already knew that I would be receiving a great product.  As soon as I opened the bottle, I was reminded of the days when I was folding little nightgowns and snuggling my babies.  Wyatt has always had sensitive skin, but he never had a reaction when I was using Dreft.  And, even with all the poopie accidents and spit up, their clothes would always come out the washer clean and stain free.  I now purchase Dreft for expectant mothers as shower gifts, so they to can learn the secret to keeping their babies clothes clean.

Dreft is available for purchase at all retail stores and comes in both a liquid and powder form.  You can also purchase Dreft online at amazon.com.

Do you know an expectant mother that you would like to tell about Dreft?  Well, you are in luck, because Dreft is offering one reader a chance to win a Dreft New Mom Baby gift basket which includes a Dreft product of winner’s choosing (powder, liquid or high-efficiency for HE washers), a cozy soft baby blanket, and a cuddly teddy bear (pictured below).  For your chance to win, just follow the rules below.

I learned this tip about cleaning diapers:
While no one detergent can remove all types of stains, we recommend the following for diaper soils:

Rinse cloth diapers with cold water immediately after use.
    Pre-soak in a solution of Dreft® and a color-safe bleach for 30 minutes.
After soaking, wring out excess water by hand or run diapers through the spin cycle.
Fill washer with warmest water allowed according to garment label, add 1 1/2 uses of Dreft® and launder as usual.
    Repeat process if needed.

Thank you for the lovely giveaway.

One tip I learned: While it is smart to wash all baby items before and after storing, do not use fabric softener on these items. Fabric softener on children’s sleepwear or other garments labeled as flame resistant may reduce flame resistance.

The tip I learned is that you should wash carseat, stroller, and playpen fabrics with Dreft before baby comes home from the hospital. Also do not use fabric softener on baby’s items, as it may reduce flame resistance on baby’s clothing items.

If fabric manufacturer suggests the use of laundry detergent to wash these items. Always follow label care instructions for everything that touches your baby’s skin.
