What can you expect from a family holiday in Egypt? Fun for one thing, and lots of it.
If you’re looking for a beach holiday, where the sand glitters like gold and the waters are warm and perfectly clear, you can’t go wrong with a trip to Egypt’s Red Sea. Head for the bustling resort of Sharm el Sheikh and enjoy a first-class family holiday like no other. Here you’ll find endless stretches of gorgeous sands that are peppered with sun loungers and thatched parasols, perfect for kicking back and relaxing while the kids build sandcastles or play in the shade.
Many bays around the resort are great for families, with sheltered regions and gently shelving shores that make a perfect spot for little paddling feet. Splash around in the shallows with the kids or introduce them to snorkeling – one thing’s for sure, if you’re going to have a crack at snorkelling, Egypt’s Red Sea is the place to do it. You could even let your youngsters have a day in the hotel’s kids’ club while you sneak off for a scuba diving trip, where you can explore rainbow-colored coral reefs that are teeming with beautiful marine life. Or if you prefer to stay dry, whisk the kids off for a boat trip to explore Egypt’s beautiful Red Sea coastline, or take an excursion on a glass-bottomed boat to get up close and personal with creatures great and small.
As for accommodation, all the major resorts along the Red Sea – such as Sharm el Shiekh, Taba and Hurghada – have a fantastic selection of family friendly hotels on offer. When you join a large-scale tour operator – for instance, if you take a Thomas Cook holiday to Egypt – you’ll find a fantastic selection of family hotels with plenty of child-friendly facilities including swimming pools, activity-packed kids’ clubs, child-safe balconies and varied menus – perfect for little fussy eaters!
When it comes to family fun in Egypt, you can’t go far wrong with a family beach holiday by the Red Sea. It’s the stuff that wonderful, long-lasting holiday memories are made of…
