In 6 weeks (give or take), I will be a Mommy for the second time! The past few months have been spent taking all of our baby stuff out of the attic and reminding myself how to use it. My 5-year-old son, Devin, had all new clothes when he was born. But, because the new baby is also a boy, I plan to use most of Devin’s clothes again. That being said, I also want the new baby to have at least a few things that are just his, fresh and new, with no previous spit up stains, etc. Now, you can understand my excitement when I was offered to try out a few item from Funkoos, an organic baby clothes company!
Here is some information about Funkoos from their site: In the summer of 2008, the founders of Funkoos went shopping for clothing for our newborn children that were both chemical and pesticide free. The organic clothing they did find was really expensive and average quality. This is when they decided to give parents an option of affordable organic clothing. Funkoos is committed to manufacturing their clothing from the finest organic, chemical free-fibers. With styles that are always fun, simple, and super-friendly to young children’s sensitive skin. Their mission is singular – to manufacture clothes in 100% fair-trade work environments, keeping the clothing purely organic, and to give a portion of profits back to the planet through many charitable causes.
Any Mommy of boys will tell you that boys get the short end of the stick when it comes to clothes shopping. The first thing I noticed about Funkoos clothes choices it that they are really cute! I chose a newborn set with pants and an adorable onesie that has a train embroidered on the front. My five year old is a train fanatic, so I was thinking of him when I chose this one. The clothes are very soft which is nice for a newborn. I have already washed the outfit and it held up really well … no pilling and it didn’t shrink or change shape. The snaps are easy to open and close and, did I mention, it is really cute! I am looking forward to meeting my little man for the first time, and, dressing him in an adorable new outfit.
