Ever since Wyatt got a Nintendo DS for his birthday, I have been thrown into a whole new world of choosing games. The first thing that I have learned is that there are not that many games age appropriate for a 5 year old. Even alot of the games that are rated E for everyone, are for ages 10 and up. The other thing I look for are games that can be educational, even if just a little.
Winter’s Tail is the only DS game that combines the amazing true story of Winter, with engaging mini games and heartwarming life lessons. Brought to you by New York Times best selling authors Owen and Mzee, this game is an interactive story based on real life events. This game teaches children about dolphins, marine biology, and conservation and contains glossary that teaches pronunciation and definitions. It has fun micro-games to reinforce the meaning of each chapter and includes a story book editor.
Crave Entertainment was nice enough to send us a copy for review. Wyatt was very interested in his new game. The first time he played he was reading the book and needed some help, but kept trying. He had fun teaching Winter to swim and is loving all the new marine facts that he is learning.
Winter’s Tail is currently available at Amazon and retails for $29.99. This game is recommended for children ages 6 and up and is rated E for Everyone. What a great way for your kids to learn about how Winter and marine life, while they think they are having fun.
