Every day I try to reflect on all the ways I am blessed, but along with the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it can be something that gets overlooked. My favorite part of Thanksgiving is spending the day with family and that reminder of all that we have to be thankful for in our lives. I am blessed with a loving husband, two healthy boys and life full of laughter and adventure. But, I also use this time to remember those families who are facing struggles.
Did you know that Aflac has supported the fight against childhood cancer for more than 20 years? The Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is one of the largest childhood cancer centers in the country.
The center is committed to providing childhood cancer patients a brighter future through advanced medical treatment, family-centered care, a child-friendly environment and innovative research.
As we all know, doing things together makes the biggest impact, so Aflac is asking everyone to get involved this holiday season through its #Duckprints campaign. Here are some of the ways to support this campaign:
- Play the “Build Your Own Balloonicle” Game here: www.aflac.com/parade This game allows you to create your own Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade balloonicle, featuring the beloved Aflac Duck. Every game experience shared on social media with #Duckprints will generate a $2 donation toward children’s cancer (up to $1.5 million).
- Use #Duckprints on social and Aflac will donate $2 to the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, in support of childhood cancer treatment and research (up to $1.5 million dollars).
- This year, Aflac introduced Duckchat, an Aflac app where consumers can get custom Aflac Duck emojis and GIFs. The app can be downloaded on either the Apple iTunes App Store or the Google Play Store. Aflac will also donate $2 (up to $1.5 million) with each download of Duckchat.
- In addition to being a partner of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, this is the 16th year that Aflac and Macy’s have teamed up to offer a holiday plush of the Aflac Duck, with 250 Macy’s stores participating across the country. The plush holiday duck is a popular gift sold at Macy’s across the nation and online at aflacduckprints.com. The net proceeds from each plush Holiday Duck sold are donated to the participating children’s cancer facility nearest to where it is purchased.
Be sure to keep an eye out for the Aflac Duck balloonicle in the 90th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!
