Having two boys can make trying to do crafts a task. They would rather run around outside or play their video games, but that doesn’t stop me from trying. If I find something cool, they are more than happy to participate, but it doesn’t usually last more the 15 minutes. Then I was asked to try out a new line of creative products from Metamorphic Toys, which not only kept my boys’ attention, it has them coming back for more.
Here is some information about Metamorphic Toys from their site: Metamorphic Toys designs toys that encourage creative expression and imaginative interactive play while reinforcing environmental responsibility. All Metamorphic Toys are made in the U.S.A. using materials that are kind to the environment, safe for kids and 100% recyclable.
Metamorphic Toys currently sells three product lines:
–Mailboxes– Kids from 2 to 102 will enjoy this toy mailbox made from sturdy 270 # (44 ECT) corrugated cardboard that is 100% recyclable. Assembles in 2 easy steps with no tools or glue.
–Silly Signs– These come in three varities: Caution Mythical Creatures, Do Not Enter, and Welcome To. Design your own Silly Sign on the blank reverse sides or imagine a world of play with our graphics. Easy 2-step assembly with no tools or glue. All three options come with 1 post, 1 base, 1 sign frame, 3 Reversible Sign Placards.
– Eco-Art U-Stick’Ems- Package of 97 glue-less, pre-cut stick ons includes a home-made eco-friendly paste recipe. Give kids more control over art projects and extend the play value over ordinary stickers. Use a glue stick, paste, paint or make your own glue for eco-friendly fun.
Metamorphic Toys was nice enough to send my boys one of their Mailboxes and a pack of their Eco-Art U-Stick’Ems to try. Blake saw the box first and immediately attempted to open the box. Once we got out the pieces, which weren’t many, and assembled the box, which only took about 2 minutes, he was ready to go! He spent a good 10 minutes coloring and decorating, which is a long time for a 3 year old. The next day, Wyatt joined in and added his creations.
The boys keep going back to the mailbox and continuing to decorate where ever they find empty space. They loved finding pictures that my husband and I drew and left for them in their own personalized mailbox! And, they even asked if they could put their mailbox in front of their clubhouse, but I had to explain that I didn’t think the cardboard would hold up in the rain.LOL
Here are the boys showing off their work:
Metamorphic Toys can be purchased online from Amazon.com and retail for $19.99 for the mailbox or silly signs and the stick’ems sell for $6.49. To learn more about this eco-friendly company, be sure to follow them on Twitter and like them on Facebook!
