It seems like every day I am reminding my kids to brush their teeth!! And, it is a phrase I have to repeat multiple times, along with “brush them good”! You try to teach them the importance of brushing twice a day, but let’s face it, boys are busy and it is not a priority. Most days I end up standing in the bathroom to make sure that they are actually brushing and for more than 20 seconds. Recently, we were asked to try Firefly toothbrushes, and I am willing to try anything that will make our morning routine easier, so I said “bring it on”!
Now, I expected the boys to be excited about a light-up Angry Birds Toothbrush, but I didn’t expect it to be a complete game-changer. For the last week, the boys have brushed their teeth without being reminded and done so for the recommended two minutes! I don’t know if it is the fact that these toothbrushes start with a green light, then change to yellow, and then to red, breaking up the two minute cycle. But, they have worked better for my kids than any other light up toothbrushes we have tried. And, with their handy suction cup on the bottom, they stay upright. Blake likes the Angry Birds Mouthwash, and says it tastes like cotton candy, and I like that it has its own cup. My only complaint is that I find the dispenser does tend to leak and leave blue mouthwash on the counter.
Firefly Toothbrushes use a unique combination of green, yellow, and red lights to teach children proper brushing habits. The green light flashes for 60 seconds and turns off automatically signaling children to stop brushing the top row of teeth and begin brushing the bottom row.
