Many years ago, while I was traveling, I wandered into a Panera Bread and must admit that it was love at first bite! The fact that I have an addiction to bread probably added to my fascination with Panera. The problem is, there was none near me at home, so I would search them out whenever I went to a new city. I am happy to say that Panera Bread has finally made themselves at home here in New Orleans!
To celebrate their opening, Panera Bread partnered with Second Harvest Food Bank, to give back to our local community. I was honored to be able to attend this event and get a taste of Panera’s goodies. It was a great event where patrons could buy $15 worth of food, with all the profits going to Second Harvest!
I love the pick two option and decided to have the Strawberry Poppyseed Salad along with the Roasted Turkey Artichoke Panini. It was really good and I enjoyed how the cool salad partnered well with the hot panini. Of course, you can’t go to Panera and not have desert, so here is a picture of the decadent Carrot Cake with Walnuts Muffin that I chose, which was just as good as it looks! FYI- the middle of this muffin is filled with cream cheese frosting!!!
To make sure that you don’t miss out on these great events, which help support our local hungry, be sure to sign up for the Second Harvest Newsletter!
