I am blessed that my kids love books, but I must admit that after reading the same story 100 times I get tired of the book even if they don’t. I know repetition is good for them and I try to be supportive, but after a while I start begging them to pick a different book. Lucky for me I found Record a Story, which lets them hear me read the story even if I’m not around!
Here is some information about Record a Story from their site: Record a Story is a remarkable new storybook that enables you to record your voice reading the story. If you are a parent away from home frequently, or you are in the military assigned to a faraway land, or you are a grandparent who lives in a different time zone—you can still give a child the comfort of your voice reading a favorite story. Record a book in your own voice, and create a keepsake gift.
Record a Story was nice enough to send me copy of Frosty the Snowman to review, which is one of Wyatt’s all time favorites! After reading the short instructions, which are printed in the book, I sat down to record. It was really easy to do and I like that you can keep recording a page until you like the way it sounds. This book has thick pages, which seen sturdy enough to withstand many uses, and is really colorful with the illustrations matching the original cartoon. The book mostly covers the song and not necessarily the whole story, which was good. It was so cute to see the looks on my boys faces when they opened the book and heard my voice reading to them. I think this is a great keepsake for the kids and I plan to do one for each of the boys with both my husband and I reading.
