One of my greatest pleasures as a parent, is sharing with my children the stories that I used to love as a child. Madeline, who is celebrating her 70th anniversary this year, was always one of my favorites and now Wyatt is enjoying the story of the little girl and her adventures.
The Madeline books tell the story of Miss Clavel and the 12 little girls she takes care of, the littlest of whom is the mischievous Madeline. Madeline’s daily adventures in late 1930s France show her with her friends in a Paris boarding school performing all their daily activities and the wild adventures they get into. Each storybook shows Madeline’s personality, which is one that includes bravery and kindness. She is truely a heroine and a great role model for children.
Kids Preferred was nice enough to send my family a copy of Madeline and a plush Genevieve to review. Wyatt and Blake have been fighting over Genevieve, who is precious, with her red ribbon and soft fur. Here is a picture of Wyatt reading Madeline, while snuggling with Genevieve. He won the puppy that night.LOL
Madeline has been a classic for so many years, because it is a great story! From the rhyming lines to the adorable illustrations, it is hard not to fall in love with Madeline and her friends. I love the honesty that goes into the stories, especially how all of Madeline’s friends wanted to be in hospital after visiting her. Other Madeline stories available are Madeline’s Rescue and Madeline in London.
If you are looking for some new holiday gift ideas, I would highly recommend a Madeline book and doll. I almost chose one of the Madeline dolls for my boys, just because they are so cute.LOL The plush we received was well made and is offered at a great price.Wyatt always loves getting new books and it is a gift you can feel great about giving.
Would your child love to snuggle with Madeline or Genevieve while hearing of their adventures? Kids Preferred has offered one lucky reader their choice of either the 70th Anniversary Madeline, Dressable Madeline, or the Madeline or Genevieve beanie from La Petite Tica.
