Wyatt is a creative and imaginative child, so we are always looking for toys that encourage these traits. He also really loves music and is always making up new songs. Musicolor is a great new toy that not only uses a child’s creativity, but also gives them musical freedom.
Musicolor uses a color by number activity, which is then played on the record player. Here is how the music player works: a rotating base and an arm for reading the music discs, much the same as a DVD player reads a DVD. The arm scans over the colored areas of the music disc rotating on the music player, reads the color and translates it to sound. The player also has three piano, violin and trumpet.
Delta Creative was nice enough to send us a Musicolor to review. Wyatt was really excited to try it out, and got to coloring right away. He did a really good job of following the letters and staying in the lines. He did get a little distracted and began playing his record before he was done. But, he then went back to coloring to see how much more of the song would play. I would love to see what he can create with the blank song disc. Here he is working hard on his disc.
Musicolor, made by Delta Creative, was a finalist for the 2010 Toy of the Year Awards. This toy comes with everything that you need, including: 1 Musicolor player, 8 Music Note Markers, 14 preprinted Song Discs, 5 Create-a-Song Discs and 1 pre-colored Song Disc.
