Review and Giveaway: Ni Hao, Kai-Lan: Princess Kai-Lan DVD CLOSED

When Ni Hao, Kai-Lan first aired, I was not sure what my boys were going to think of the show.  To my surprise, even though the main character is a girl, they both were entertained.  Blake liked the animals and Wyatt liked learning how to say words in Chinese.  In her brand new DVD adventure titled Ni Hao Kai-Lan: Princess Kai-Lan, which was just released by Nickelodeon, Kai-Lan goes on her most exciting journey yet as she becomes Princess Kai-Lan for a day!

Here is a list of the episodes that are included on the Ni Hao Kai-Lan: Princess Kai-Lan DVD:

Princess Kai-lan [Double Length Episode]-Kai-lan, Rintoo, Tolee and Hoho are playing in the backyard when they get a visit from their superhero friend, the Monkey King, who really needs their help. Kai-lan and her friends go on an adventure with the Monkey King and see what they can do.  The Monkey King gives them robes to wear that give them special powers to float, jump, and spin in the air!  They’ll have to use their special powers – and the viewer’s help – to leap over bamboo forests, travel past a moat of giant bubbles, and find their way into the majestic palaces. 

The Monkey King tells Kai-lan and friends about a magical kingdom where bears and foxes live together but don’t get along. Kai-lan must use her special powers to get to the palace, and help the foxes and bears become friends!

Lulu’s Cloud- Kai-lan is invited over to Lulu’s magical house in the clouds! She is thrilled that Mr. Dragon is flying her there, but Hoho gets upset when he sees that the games, the food, and even the hats are different than what he’s used to, and soon he wants to go home. It’s up to Kai-lan and the viewer to help Hoho see that if he tries some different things, he might actually like them!

The Moon Festival-Kai-lan is excited for the traditional Chinese Moon Festival, and Hoho is thrilled because he’s finally old enough to stay awake with his friends so they can make lanterns, eat mooncakes, and best of all, watch the moon come out! But when the sky is so cloudy that Hoho can’t see the moon at all, he breaks into tears. Kai-lan and the viewer have to help Hoho find a way to make everything better.

Nickelodeon was nice enough to send my boys over a copy of Ni Hao Kai-Lan: Princess Kai-Lan to review.  Blake is totally obssesed with the moon, so his favorite episode was The Moon Festival, which helped us since sometimes our moon is hiding behind the clouds when we look for it at night.  Wyatt enjoyed Princess Kai-Lan, because he thinks the Monkey King is cool and has decided that he needs on of those robes.LOL

Ni Hao Kai-Lan: Princess Kai-Lan has a running time of 96 minutes and includes the Special Feature: “Walking on Sunshine” Music Video.  This DVD retails for $16.99 and is available for purchase now from amazon.com.
