Wyatt will be entering Kindergarten in the fall and he knows this is “big boy” school. While he is really excited, my husband and I felt like he could use some help preparing for the next grade. We wanted him to practice his writing skills for both his letters and numbers. Wyatt used a Summer Bridge Activities Workbook to prepare for last school year and we knew that this was just what we needed again this summer.
Here is some information about the company behind Summer Bridge Activities: Carson-Dellosa Publishing, LLC, based in Greensboro, North Carolina, is a leading educational solutions provider for both educators and parents. Founded by two teachers, the company boasts a 30-year history of enhancing a child’s learning potential and environment through quality curriculum, supplemental learning materials, and classroom resources. Today, Carson-Dellosa continues its legacy of offering a wide array of products that are created by teachers for teachers and parents. The complete product line includes supplemental books for math, science, social studies, language arts, and early childhood; classroom decoratives; pocket charts; and games and manipulatives for prekindergarten through the eighth grade. Carson-Dellosa proudly provides teachers, parents, and children around the world with the best possible educational materials produced by the industry’s most recognized and respected award-winning brands including: Summer Bridge Activities™, Mark Twain, Key Education, HighReach Learning®, Frank Schaffer®, Spectrum, Judy® Instructo, American Education Publishing™, and Brighter Child®.
Carson-Dellosa was nice enough to send Wyatt a K-1 Summer Bridge Activity Book to try. When the book came in Wyatt was really excited to get started. He found his pencil and crayons and went to work. We actually had to tell him to stop, because he was trying to do too many pages in one sitting. Wyatt works in his book around three times a week, which gives him a chance to practice his writing skills. I love the format of these workbooks, because Wyatt thinks they are more of a game than work, and each days lesson is only around 15 minutes long.
Here are a few of the features offered in Summer Bridge Activities Workbooks: All new activities in math, language arts, science, and social studies, New integrated fitness and character-development activities, Reading and word lists for each grade level, and Bonus full-color flash cards, certificate of completion, and stickers (PK–K through 4–5).
Summer Bridge Activities Workbooks are available from grades Pre-K through 8th. These workbooks are available online from Carson-Dellosa and retail for only $14.95.
