The Backyardigans have arrived on DVD, and just in time for the holidays!  They are starring in their first ever holiday release, titled The Backyardigans: Christmas With The Backyardigans, which includes four new to DVD episodes.

The Action Elves Save Christmas- It’s Christmas Eve and Santa’s Magic Sack is missing.  This sounds like a job for Santa’s Action Elves!  Tasha, Uniqua, and Pablo are the stealthiest elves around.  Are they crafty enough to get past the Abominable Brothers?  Music Genre: Memphis Soul (Stax-Volt)

Pablo and the Acorns- The Acorns (Tasha, Tyrone, and Austin) are kindly Scouts who value outdoor adventure and helping those in need. But they are put to the ultimate challenge when they try to help Pablo, an evil dictator from outer space.  Music Genre: Society Band

The Big Dipper Diner-  Waitress Uniqua and Cook Pablo meet their hungriest customer yet when Hugs, a sweet little space alien, drops into their space diner.  But an almost identical space alien, the Blarg, is also in the neighborhood shrinking things!  Music Genre: Hootenanny

The Amazing Splashinis- The Amazing Splashinis (Uniqua, Tyrone, and Pablo) astound with their incredible synchronized dives. But practicing their latest dive becomes close to impossible when they discover a Sea Monster in the pool.  Music Genre: Balalaika Orchestra

Nickelodeon was nice enough to send my boys a copy of The Backyardigans: Christmas With The Backyardigans on DVD to review.  We all know how much of a Backyardigans fan Blake is, and this DVD was no exception.  He watched it the day it arrived, while holding the cover in his hands.  He really like The Action Elves Save Christmas, but I think his favorite episode was The Big Dipper Diner, with the space aliens.  My favorite to watch was the Christmas episode, but I had never seen that one before, and thought it was absolutely adorable.  As always, the music in this series is catchy and fun!

The Backyardigans: Christmas With The Backyardigans has a running time of 95 minutes and retails for $16.99.  This DVD is available for purchase now from amazon.com.
