My hubby loves to play video games and I guess this is where Wyatt gets his love of gaming. He loves to play on the computer, on his gaming systems, and even on my cell phone. This is why I was so excited to get a sneek peek at the VTech MobiGo! The MobiGo is like all the Wyatt’s favorite gaming outlets in one place.
Here is some information about the MobiGo: This innovative handheld offers a variety of fun with its touch-screen technology that brings new fun and learning experiences to kids. Young learners mimic Mom and Dad with their very own touch-screen learning system. Major fun meets classic school skills to create the perfect edu-gaming experience.
Here are some of the features available on MobiGo:
Touch-screen: Applying touch control that includes tap, flick, pat and drag & drop, kids learn with fun on the
same technology as parents do with their touch-screen devices.
Educational games: From coloring, drawing and playing instruments, kids can discover a wide variety of
fun and engaging learning games. MobiGo teaches a wide range of skills including math, vocabulary,
spelling, logic and categorization. The slide open QWERTY keyboard introduces older kids to text typing
skills.
Downloadable Content: Additional games and content will be available for download so kids can customize
their MobiGo with the latest innovative games and continue the learning and fun for years to come.
Portable: Handheld robust gaming console makes learning fun on the go for little hands and is equipped
with headphone and AC adapter jacks.
VTech was nice enough to send Wyatt a MobiGo to review. When we took the package out the box, Wyatt first question was “Is that for me?” and he then kept at us until we got it out for him. As soon as he started playing the MobiGo, he was hooked. He loves the touch screen and the fact that the game slides up to reveal a QWERTY keyboard. The “Touch and Learn” game that comes with the system is below Wyatt’s capabilities, by that has not stopped him from playing with his new toy as much as possible. He even asks to play it in the car. We will have to get him one of the games available. Here he is playing his MobiGo quietly in his room:
As you can see, the MobiGo is the perfect size for Wyatt and he easily uses the touch screen. I tried the game out and found that it showed many different features from tracing shapes to finding letters. This is a great gaming system for Wyatt, who is 5, and offers some game titles that will definitely interest him.
Here is a list of the games that you can purchase for the MobiGo: Ben 10, Disney/Pixar’s Cars, Disney Fairies, Disney Princesses, Dora the Explorer, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Mr. Men & Little Miss, NASCAR, Shrek, Super Hero Squad, and Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story 3. All games retail for $19.99.
The VTech MobiGo retails for $59.99 and is appropriate for kids ages 3-8. This system will be available exclusively at Toys R Us stores and online beginning June 7th. Wyatt has the system in orange and blue colors, but the system will also be available in a pink and purple combo.
