My husband is a movie junkie. His favorite thing to do is go the movies, but with two little ones, we don’t get to do this very often. He loves all kinds of movies from horror to comedy, and even girlie ones. When we first saw the preview for Whip It, we both thought that it looked funny.
Here is some details about Whip It: The memorable heroine of Juno is back and scores huge laughs as Bliss Cavendar, a blue-haired misfit stuck in a tiny Texas town in Whip It, a coming-of-age comedy skating onto Blu-ray Disc with Digital Copy and DVD January 26 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. Tired of following in her family’s footsteps, Bliss discovers a way to put her life on the fast track when she lands a spot on a rough-and-tumble roller derby team. Her journey comes full-circle as she reconnects with her family and finds her own path in the world. This movie also co-stars Drew Barrymore (in her feature film directorial debut), Marcia Gay Harden, Juliette Lewis, Daniel Stern and Jimmy Fallon.
Twentieth Century Fox was nice enough to send us a copy of Whip It to review. My husband and I both enjoyed the movie and giggled alot. I think that this movie will become a cult classic, since it has all the classic elements. Misfit teen trying to find her place in the world. I totally adore Ellen Page, but my favorite character was the roller derby coach, with his jean shorts. We will definitely be watching this film many more times.
Whip It has a running time of 111 minutes and is rated PG-13. This DVD can be purchased from Amazon.com and retails for $29.99.
