Olivia, which is a wonderful book series, is now an adorable series that is on Nick Jr. Olivia follows a 6¾-year-old dynamo who believes she can do anything and sees every day as an opportunity to try new things. Her vivid imagination takes her on grand adventures, both real and fantasy, and like all children, her antics occasionally result in endearing misadventures. Olivia’s confidence and positive nature inspires kids everywhere to think boldly and follow their dreams.
Just like most kids, Olivia lives in a world of home and family, confronts the limitations of being a kid, and is frustrated by the distance between what she wants to do and what she is allowed to. I have seen the show a few times and think it is very good and appealing. Even my boys did not mind watching.LOL
Olivia: Olivia Takes Ballet, her second DVD was just released. This DVD contains these four episodes: Olivia Takes Ballet / Olivia and Her Ducklings, Olivia Runs a Carnival / Olivia Explores The Attic, Olivia And The Anniversary Surprise / Olivia The Pet Monitor, and Olivia Goes Camping / Olivia Becomes A Vet.
Nick Jr. was nice enough to send me a copy of Olivia Takes Ballet for review. I asked my friend Bridgette, The Experimental Mommy, if her girls would like to watch Olivia and she said YES! Here is what they thought: My daughter is in her third year of dance class and has become quite the performer. So, when Renee asked us to review, “Olivia Takes Ballet” on DVD, I knew Lily would be up for the challenge. She is already a fan of the Olivia book series by Ian Falconer, and recognized the DVD cover as soon as I brought it home. The DVD actually contains 4 episodes (8 stories), but just as I predicted, Lily wanted to watch the ballet episode first. She immediately imitated the jumps, leaps and pirouettes performed by Olivia and had a great time watching Olivia as she took her first crack at this art form. I love the fact that Olivia is fearless and tries just about anything which I feel will help build my daughter’s confidence as well. I would definitely purchase another Olivia title in the future!
Olivia Takes Ballet has a running time of 95 minutes and retails for $16.99. You can purchase this DVD from Amazon.com.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS REVIEW IS MY OPINION. THANK YOU TO NICKELODEON AND PARAMOUNT HOME ENTERTAINMENT FOR SUPPLYING THIS PRODUCT FOR REVIEW.
