I really enjoy cooking and trying new recipes for my family. If those recipes include ways to make the food that I am serving a healthier option, I am even more likely to give it a try. For a long time now, I have heard about using applesauce as a replacement for vegetable oil in recipes, but I just learned that you can replace apple juice for sugar! This year Tree Top celebrates its 50th Anniversary and is holding an “America’s Secret Ingredient” contest to find out how you use apple products in your everyday life.
Here is some information about Tree Top from their site: Since 1960, we’ve held true to our small town heritage of care, craftsmanship and quality. Tree Top Inc, is an agricultural cooperative owned by more than 1000 apple and pear growers in Northwestern United States. Our mission is to create on-going value for our customers, consumers and growers through high-performance employees who bring to market trusted, wholesome, quality products. We strive to be the first choice fruit-based company of growers, customers and consumers.
To celebrate their 50th Anniversary, Tree Top is hosting the “America’s Secret Ingredient”, where you can share your apple-themed recipe for a chance to win a trip for 2 to the Big Apple, to Food Network’s NY Wine & Food Festival and to meet a Food Network celebrity! To enter your winning recipe idea, just visit TreeTop.com.
Tree Top was nice enough to send me some samples of their products to try. We received an applesauce, a Tree Top trim Mango-Peach juice, and a 3 Apple Blend Juice. It was really hard to keep the kids from opening these products the minute the arrived.LOL I had to explain to them that I needed them to cook with, which they so did not get!
I drank the Tree Top trim Mango-Peach Juice with breakfast one morning and was really impressed with how much flavor it had. It was sweet without all the extra sugar! The trim line is formulated Tree to be an easy way to add a delicious, low-calorie, fruit serving to your diet, while supplying you with natural fortifications that promote a healthy metabolism and help curb your appetite. It contains only 60 calories per serving and counts as 1 fruit serving!
The 3 Apple Blend Juice was devoured by Wyatt! He is a juice drinker and has always loved apple juice. He thought it was yummy! This Fresh Pressed Apple Juice is inspired by early harvest celebrations and is a refreshing and distinctive blend of tart Granny Smith and Red & Golden Delicious apples. This juice definitely made an impression on Wyatt.
I had to hide the applesauce so that it would make it into a recipe. I visited TreeTop.com and searched around for something that the whole family could enjoy and decided on Apple Cinnamon French Toast. This recipe was super easy and sounded delicious, which made it an obvious choice. We enjoyed our Apple Cinnamon French Toast for dinner the other night and it was a huge success! Blake ate his toast up before I could even get a picture, but here is a picture of Wyatt eating his toast.
