Wyatt is still a huge fan of WordWorld! Anytime we see it on TV, he sits down and starts sounding out the words along with the show. His favorite character is still Duck and he loves to sing along with the theme song. This series is a great way for kids to learn about word building and how to sound out words. For all you WordWorld fans out there, NCircle Entertainment has released a new dvd for your enjoyment, WordWorld: Pirate Sheep is now available for purchase.
WordWorld: Pirate Sheep contains the following 4 episodes:
Pirate Sheep- While playing on the beach, Sheep, Duck and Shark find a message in a bottle. It’s one of several rhyming clues that will lead them to a special treasure! Like hearty pirates, the trio follows the clues and rhyme their way across the sea—if only they had a ship!
Superhero Sheep– Sheep becomes Word World’s first superhero, saving the day with the letter “S”! Duck is eager to be her trusty sidekick, but Sheep repeatedly points out that “superheroes don’t need help.” But Sheep learns that everyone needs help sometimes when she gets stuck on top of Pig’s barn and it’s up to Duck to save her.
Mail Mix Up- Duck offers to help Kangaroo deliver letters to his WordFriends, but he forgets Kangaroo’s instructions and delivers the wrong letters to everyone. Duck discovers that there sure are a lot of words that end with the sound “ail”—such as NAIL, PAIL and SAIL—and that they sure can’t be used interchangeably!
Wee Little Whale–Sheep rescues a tiny whale who is stuck in some seaweed and brings her home to her haystack. They quickly become best of friends. But as Whale gets bigger and bigger, outgrowing Sheep’s tea cups, bathtubs and pools, Sheep realizes she must return her WordFriend to the sea. Although Whale may be big, her friendship with Sheep proves to be bigger, and the two discover a way to continue to play together: They just have to build a word!
NCircle Entertainment was nice enough to send my family a copy of WordWorld: Pirate Sheep to review. Wyatt was so excited to see a new WordWorld, that he made me put it on right away! He loved Pirate Sheep, since he think pirates are cool and they went treasure hunting. That was probably his favorite episode. I liked Mail Mix Up, because it showed him how much difference one letter can make in a word.
I recommend this show for any kid who is trying to read, since it really helps them to learn how to sound out the letters. The characters are cute, fun, and all have very distinct personalities, which makes the show really entertaining!
WordWorld: Pirate Sheep has a running time of 60 minutes and is available for purchase now from NCircle Entertainment, Amazon.com, or Toys R Us. This DVD retails for $12.99.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS REVIEW IS MY OPINION. THANK YOU TO NCIRCLE ENTERTAINMENT FOR SUPPLYING THIS PRODUCT FOR REVIEW.
