For those of you who have not had the pleasure of traveling with me, here is a little tip, I battle motion sickness. Whether I am in a car, plane, or on a boat, I usually require some form of medication. This is probably why we have yet to venture on a family cruise, but after checking out the Carnival Elation a couple of weeks ago, I am ready to slap on a patch, swallow some dramamine and give it a try!
I had the pleasure of checking out the Carnival Elation a few weeks ago, when they invited aboard, to learn all about their new cocktails and bars. All of these changes are part of their newest venture, which is called Fun Ship 2.0, and it does look like a whole lot of fun! I am lucky enough to live in New Orleans, which has been a Carnival Port for almost 20 years now!
Just think, a vacation where the kids never get bored and I don’t have to hear, but mom “I’m hungry”! Check out the pool and waterslide that is featured on the Elation.
While on the ship, I was treated to a yummy lunch and some tasty cocktails! Here is one of my favorite drinks I tried, a Cucumber Sunrise, which will be available in the Alchemy Bar on the new Fun Ship 2.0. Hint: Try the Coconut Shrimp!
Another important thing that I learned is, that the best way to cruise is with friends! I had a blast sharing this experience with Bridgette from Experimental Mommy and Tricia from NOLA Mommy!
Here is the skinny on what Fun Ship 2.0 will have to offer: The partnerships include entertainer George Lopez, who has been named Carnival’s creative director for comedy the line’s fleetwide comedy clubs; Food Network star Guy Fieri, who has created a new burger venue called Guy’s Burger Joint; leading video game manufacturer EA SPORTS which created the first-ever EA SPORTS Bar at sea, and Hasbro, which developed new larger-than-life game shows featuring iconic games and brands. The company is also working with leading production talent to create a high-energy musical showcase and announced that celebrity song master DJ IRIE was named Official DJ of Carnival Cruise Lines. Plus, Carnival launched more of its unique branded spaces with the RedFrog Rum Bar, BlueIguana Tequila Bar and three other fun themed bars and lounges, as well as a new complimentary BlueIguana Cantina casual dining option.
