Both of my kids suffer with allergies, but lucky for us they are not food allergies. I can’t imagine how hard it is for parents to watch everything their kids eat and worry if it was prepared properly. That is why I want to share with you all a new type of snack, one that kids will love and is made in a nut-free facility! They are called Skeeter Snacks and they are yummy!
Here is some information about Skeeter Snacks from their site: Founded by dads, Pete and Dave, whom both have a child with peanut and tree nut allergies. They started Skeeter Snacks because they couldn’t find what we were looking for on store shelves and couldn’t understand why no one was making nut-safe snacks that tasted good enough to serve to everyone and were priced appropriately. Peanut and tree nut allergies are a serious problem. What sets Skeeter Snacks apart in the marketplace is their focus. They make great tasting snacks which contain no peanuts or tree nuts and they make them in facilities that do not process any products containing peanuts or tree nuts. How complete is this commitment? Our facilities don’t even have nut products in the vending machines in the employee lounges! Whenever you see Skeeter, the squirrel who is allergic to nuts, holding his placard, you know that the product inside is delicious and nut-safe.
Skeeter Snacks was nice enough to send me some of their cookies to try. I have to say that they are really good and they totally live up to their commitment of a great tasting snack! The chocolate chunk was my favorite and I haven’t shared them with the kids, because I am being greedy! My husband liked the Skeeter Doodle, and said it was better than Pepperidge Farms. I would definitely buy these cookies for my family and would recommend them to anyone with a nut allergy!
Skeeter Snacks offers three varities of cookies: Chocolate Chunk, Golden Oatmeal, and Skeeter Doodle. The cookies come 2/pack and are sold in boxes of 6 packages for only $3.99! Skeeter Snacks is committed to the ongoing education of parents, educators, and others about the dangers of nut allergies. And, a portion of Skeeter Snacks’ profits supports the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network! So, you are not only getting a great tasting snack for a great price, but helping the allergy community, too! These snack are available at major retailers nationwide and online at SkeeterSnacks.com.
