The DespicaBlimp Came to NOLA!

The DespicaBlimp, which is from Universal Pictures Despicable Me 2, flew into New Orleans this past weekend and drew lots of attention as it roamed the city!  The blimp looks just like a “Minion”, which makes it the most adorable blimp ever, and super exciting for kids.  My family was lucky enough to check out the Despicablimp first hand!

While we were a little disappointed that it was too windy to go up in the Despicablimp, the boys were consoled by the fact that they got to check out the blimp from the inside.  This included sitting in the pilot seat and pressing ALL the buttons!  They then got to hang with “Minion Jerry”, which included singing and dancing BANANA!

Here is some information about the Despicablimp:  The Despicablimp is one of the largest airships in the world at 165-feet long, 55-feet high and 46-feet wide, and is one of only 15 flying today.  The blimp will travel approximately 20,000 miles, crisscrossing the country three times over the course of its six-month journey and will have multiple stops across the continental U.S.  The Despicablimp may be tracked in real-time via GPS at the Despicablimp Command Center.   Fans can tweet sightings of the blimp or post photos to Instagram or Flickr using #despicablimp to see it featured on the site, and participate in weekly prize giveaways. Visitors to the site can also enter for a chance to win a trip for four to the Hollywood world premiere of Despicable Me 2 and get the once-in-a-lifetime chance to ride in the blimp!

Here is a video of the blimp taking off:

Be sure to check and see if the Despicablimp will be in your area, because you don’t want to miss it!

DISCLOSURE:  My family was invited to check out the Despicablimp.  All opinions stated are my own.
