I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Cat’s Pride. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
Meet Alien PopTart:
Pictured here in his usual position, perched high above the world, where he believed he belongs. He is the fourth male in our house, and the only pet we currently own. He was a kindergarten graduation gift for Wyatt, who is now in third grade, and was adopted from a local cat rescue organization. As you can tell, the kids named him, which always makes for fun when calling the vet to book his yearly.
He is a beautiful orange tabby and has all the patience in the world, when it comes to my boys. Seriously, they have even dressed him in Build a Bear clothes, and they both survived without a scratch. Alien’s disposition is what makes all the work of owning him worth while. I mean, do you see the amount of fur he has?! But, honestly, the worst task for me is the litter box!
Let us talk about the litter box. First of all, it is huge, since he is not a small cat. Secondly, he seems to scatter litter everywhere when he exits his box. And, lastly, it smells! This is one of the tasks that I always procrastinate. For the last two years, we have used Tidy Cats Cat Litter, but am always looking for a litter that will work harder, so I don’t have to.
When I was offered a chance to put Cat’s Pride Fresh and Light Cat Litter to the test recently, I happily agreed. Two 15lb containers of Cat’s Pride arrived at my door: Fragrance-Free Odor Control and Quick Action Varieties.
Usually, I sift, scoop and add more litter, but this time I decided to do a full clean-out so that I could put this litter to the test. I must admit that it was much easier to handle the Fresh and Light Litter, which is 25% lighter than other scoopable clay litters. We used the scented quick clumping variety first and I must admit that it is doing a great job controlling odors. It scoops great and and I find that Alien is tracking less out of his box!
As an added bonus, Cat’s Pride Fresh & Light is the only litter recommended by the American Humane Association!
You can purchase Cat’s Pride at Wal-Mart, PetSmart, or you can use their store locator to find where it is available in your area. Be sure to connect with Cat’s Pride on Facebook and Twitter for all their product updates.

The Fresh & Light sounds really cool – that stuff can get heavy in the litter box. And, I’m so jealous you have a great cat. We aren’t gong to get a pet until we’re settled somewhere. Who knows when that will be!
