Review and Giveaway: Exergen CLOSED

I was looking for a new thermometer, when I came across the Exergen Temporal Scanner. I had the ear one and was having trouble using it on my 7 month old. I never felt like it was positioned correctly and was constantly doubting its accuracy.
I started to research different options and what I discovered was Exergen. Their Temporal Scanner is an infrared thermometer that measures body temperature by taking a reading from the temporal artery. This thermometer is not only a more accurate way to measure, but it is also the least invasive.

Here is a short video of me taking my 4 year old’s temperature.

See how easy it was. It did take a little practice to make sure that I was positioned correctly and scanning at the right speed. It was quicker than my old ear thermometer and I could even check his temperature now when he is sleeping.

Last time I went to the pediatrician’s office, I noticed that they had switched to using these, so I feel that this is the best option available.

I know it sounds to good to be true, but I can definitely say this thermometer has it all. The Temporal Scanner is available at Babies R Us, Toys R Us, Walgreens, Costco, and Baby.com.

  1. I love that it is non-invasive. That’s important since my daughter practically lives at the doctor and is terrified of the ear thermometer.

  2. I love how fast it is! I can get in and take my son’s temperature during the night without disturbing him too much. With frequent ear infections this is a must!

  3. I like that it works so fast the person barely even knows you’re taking their temperature, and that it’s more accurate than tympanic thermometers (which I’ve never thought were very accurate!)

  4. I love how quickly it gets an accurate reading. who wants to hold down a sick little one while trying to get a temp for a minute or more? This is an awesome product

  5. I like that it is more accurate than oral or ear thermometers…and I’m sure my little boy will like that it doesn’t involve poking anything into his mouth or ear!!

  6. My daughter gets super high temperatures–usually between 104 and 105–and usually in the middle of the night. They have to be carefully monitored. This would make it so much easier and less intrusive, right now we use an oral digital.

  7. The TemporalScanner Thermometer has been clinically tested for accuracy compared to rectal thermometers and temperature sensors inserted in the heart during course of patient treatment and accepted for use in major hospitals, making it the ideal thermometer for use with newborns, infants, children or adults.

  8. My favorite thing about it is that it is easy to use and ACCURATE! Its so hard to get an accurate temp! Thanks for the chance! hawkgirl_16 {at} hotmail {dot} com
